Interview Question:

Hi Carleen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

MY LOVE FOR ART by Queen Carleen Patrick

I’ve always had a love for art. My earliest memories are of my older sister and I drawing paper dolls and their furniture to play with. We enjoyed hours of fun doing that.

I enjoyed art so much that every day after school I would hurry through my homework, just so I can do my artwork. My grandma would always mention how studious and diligent I was, but my true love was art. I used pencils and colored pencils back then, and still do today. I’ve added acrylic painting to my repertoire now.

I took an art class in school and a beginning painting class in college. I didn’t paint or draw much after that for many years.

How I Started Art Again

My two younger sons were just like my sister and I. They drew paper action figures and their weapons to play with. They also spent hours engaged in play with them. One day one of them mentioned that they would love to paint. So wanting to be a supportive parent, I went to Walmart and bought him one of those artist kits that came in a wooden business-like briefcase.

However, when I presented it to him, he said that he had no recollection of ever telling me that he wanted to paint. I gave him the case anyway as a gift. He and his younger brother used the colored pencils and markers but never touched the pastels or paints. After a while when I noticed that they had no interest in using them, I decided to make use of them.

So after many years, I finally began to paint and draw with pastels which were kind of like crayons except more messy. At first painting was very hard and confusing. I got the idea in my head that if I drew with pencils, it would allow me to have more control over my artwork. So I began drawing.

I remembered thinking back to art class where we learned to draw 3D shapes first. So I thought that would be a great way to start but when I began drawing I drew a part of a plant person. How weird I thought. The next day I thought I would begin drawing the 3D shapes again but instead, I drew a root foot pencil artwork. I continued drawing this way for many days and drew quite a number of things. I wondered where this art was coming from. It was much better and developed than anything I have ever drawn.

Explaining My Artwork

One day the Lord came to me and said, “Let’s talk about your artwork.” So I was very excited and thought he would critique my work but instead he began a multimedia presentation of the Blue Globes of Consciousness, using my artwork as a foundation with live visions downloaded in my mind. It felt like I was actually witnessing everything that he was saying. It was truly an amazing and life changing experience, I was taken aback. After the presentation, I just sat there for a while thinking, “What were these Blue Globes of Consciousness?” and “I thought he was going to critique my art.” That was a big joke on me.

At first I thought that I was just imagining things or that some demon was playing a trick on me. So I began binding up the devil and so on. The next day, as I was contemplating what to do about my experience and began binding up the devil again, I felt the Lord’s presence next to me. He was folding his arms watching me, saying to himself, “Oh, you’re binding me up are you?” So he came to me and just said, “Let’s continue.” And he began to unfold the history of my soul but that’s for my book which should be coming out soon. Back to Painting

After using colored pencils for a while and getting a better idea of how to use lights, darks, gradients and perspective, I thought it would be a good idea to return to painting now, so I did. My paintings were much better than before. Later on, after a few years, I decided to paint the Blue Globes of Consciousness. I would need to be able to express them in a 3D form since they were in complete light. I decided that using glitter would be a good idea, since it was an expression of light. So a lot of my paintings have glitter in them because I enjoyed using this medium so much.

Finger Fluid Art

When I was frustrated with trying to paint realistic type artwork, I asked the Lord to give me a way to paint, that is simple, easier and less frustrating. He gave me finger fluid art which uses finger painting and fluid art type combo. The result is an abstract impressionistic artwork.

Intuitive Art

Later on as I continued to work with pencils, forms began appearing on the paper that I was drawing on, so I just began to follow along with what I saw. That is how intuitive art came about. It is a form of creative channeling.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

My struggles were finding a way to express what I saw in utter light into a 3D form. I still struggle with that but I give it my best and I use a lot of glitter. When I first had my experience I wrestled with whether or not I should share any of it or would anyone believe a word I spoke, but when I went online, I heard a few people also speaking about the Globes of Consciousness and their own experiences. It became a common subject in the spiritual community.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?

I am most proud of the way that I was able to create so much artwork. Sometimes it’s still a struggle but I press on and love what I am able to produce. I specialize in colored pencil drawings and acrylic painting, sometimes with glitter. My art is unique in its form and how it is produced. Finger fluid art combines finger painting and fluid art and intuitive art comes from above and is channeled down into our reality.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?

Well there is Ai now but I think that there will never be a substitute for studio art because it is an expression of the soul and no Ai can do that, since they have no soul. They are an imitation of life. I love speaking and interacting with them. Also many people love creating things themselves and also creating art with others, socially.
